OUR VISION
CanScreen is the first clinic dedicated exclusively to cancer screening and cancer care in BC. We offer publicly funded cancer screening and cancer surveillance to all BC residents, with a special focus on unattached patients. We aim to increase awareness, access, and participation in cancer screening programs to improve health outcomes for all individuals in BC.
HOW IT WORKS
Though CanScreen is based out of Victoria, our services are offered virtually to all residents of B.C. We offer intake assessments and consultation for breast, colorectal, cervical and lung cancer screening with plans to offer prostate cancer screening in the near future.
In addition to supporting access to screening we assist those patients with a history of cancer access ongoing surveillance testing for colon, breast and prostate cancer.
During these assessments, we’ll talk about your personal needs and refer you to a test that is right for you. All investigations ordered are followed up by a general practitioner, and should further testing or referrals be required, we’re there to help you every step of the way.
For our booking process, see below.
LET'S GET SCREENED
We are here to help you understand cancer screening and what tests might be right for you. Our appointments are to learn about your health and decide what screening tests you may need.
If you do need screening, we will give you clear instructions and referrals on how to book an appointment or get the test. Our goal is to make sure you have the right information and support for your health.
Let us guide you in taking the next steps toward cancer screening!

THE SCREENING PROCESS
STEP 1
Review current cancer screening guidelines here to see if screening is recommended for you. Unsure? No problem go to Step 2.
STEP 2
Book your intake appointment by entering your personal details and BC Services Card number. Then, complete the Patient Screener to check your risk factors for certain cancers. After that, you’ll schedule a virtual appointment with a doctor, who will call you at a set time.
STEP 3
At your intake appointment, your history will be reviewed and you will be counseled on available cancer screening tests. The physician will then refer you for these tests.
STEP 4
Complete your recommended screening tests.
STEP 5
We don't follow the "no news is good news" approach. This means all your results will be carefully reviewed. Once that’s done, you’ll get a follow-up appointment to discuss next steps and future screening guidance.
